Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed has fulfilled his promise of awarding contract for the dualization of the ever busy 11 kilometer federal highway along Ningi-Jigawa-Kano road.
The dualization of the road project which is worth over 10 billion naira was awarded to Mothercat Nigeria Limited.
While flagging off the project, the governor said that, not only will the dualization of the road reduce accidents, but that it will provide job opportunities to engineers, labourers and artisans, food vendors and local suppliers inline with value chain addition that is usually associated with such projects.
He said that already Thirty percent of the mobilization fee has a been paid to the Construction Company, Mother Cat Nigeria Limited, to allow for the immediate commencement of the work.
The Governor said that the project will be supervised by a team of engineers from both the State and Federal Ministries of Works to ensure its quality and speedy completion.
Among the dignitaries that attended the groundbreaking ceremony was His Royal Highness, Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya, who expressed his gratitude to Governor Bala for keeping his promise.
Highlights of the ceremony was the conferment of high level traditional title of Turakin Ningi Emirate on Governor Bala Mohammed by the Emir as a mark of appreciation.
There were goodwill messages from notable members of the Emirate that includes Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi, Representative Hashimu Yakubu and the speaker of Bauchi State house of assembly among other dignitaries.
