Wife of Bauchi State Governor Dr. Aishatu Bala Mohammed has cautioned parents especially mothers to be extra vigilant in monitoring the movement of their kids at all times.
Dr. Aisha further called on parents to inculcate, to their children, the habit of reporting anything unusual they observed regarding their relationship with strangers in their respective communities.
She said that all these are measures that need to be adopted by parents towards preventing avoidable misfortunes that could befall their children and wards.
The First Lady was speaking against the background of the recent discovery of 3 abducted Bauchi Children that were taken to Anambra State by a yet to be identified lady.
Dr. Aisha Mohammed, who was interacting with Parents of the abducted children, the Police and members of Federation of Women Lawyers Association (FIDA) Bauchi State Chapter, explained that the 3 childrenĀ were abducted by their neighbour who used to give them incentives in their parentsā compound, describing such negligence as carelessness on the part of the parents for allowing their children to get close to a stranger.
She commended the effort of the police and other security operatives for their efforts in discovering the whereabouts of the 3 children and pledged to mobilize the police to Anambra State to bring back the 3 children.
“We don’t want Bauchi state to be the centre of missing babies, and such incidents needs to beĀ nipped in the bud.Ā We are going to work hard in that regard. IĀ will talk to the Emir of Bauchi,Ā the State House of Assembly, Council of Ulamas, and other stakeholders to see how we could end these crime to humanity”, said Dr. Aisha.
The Police Deputy Crime Officer (DCO) Yelwa Division Inspector Nafiu Umar said the children were kidnapped in Gwallameji, a suburb within Bauchi metropolis, but were rescued in Anambra through an intelligence network of security operatives in the state.
The names of the abducted children were given as Sabo Salisu 3 years old, Isah Abdulkadir 4 years old, and Nana Khadija Zakariya’u 6 years old.
