The management of Sa’adu Zungur University Bauchi under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Fatimah Tahir have paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, over the death of Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Dr Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya.
Professor Tahir on behalf of the management team expressed the University’s heartfelt condolences to the Governor and the people of Bauchi State, describing the late emir as a great leader and champion of education.
She said, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of the Emir of Ningi, who was a strong supporter of education and our university,” adding that, “We pray that Allah grants him eternal rest and comfort his family and the people of Ningi emirate.”
Responding, Governor Bala Mohammed expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and her entourage for finding time to pay the condolences visit, which he described as a symbol of recognition of the modest contribution of the late emir to the educational development in the state.
The governor described the late emir as, “A man who is versatile and very universal in his approach, very compliments and looks at the developmental challenges of his emirate, ensuring that tertiary institutions and other secondary and primary instructions are set up in his domain.”
Governor Mohammed added that, “He was quick to recognize the multiplier effect of education on human capital development, services and infrastructure.”
“We will miss him, but certainly he has left a good legacy for us,” governor Mohammed added.
The governor further stressed that, “The late emir has done very well, not only for Ningi, but for Bauchi and the country in general.”
“We thank you most sincerely for this condolence and we really appreciate it. May you go back safely,” the governor said.
