For their outstanding performance in the preparation of timely reports on the Bauchi State budget implementation, the State House of Assembly has resolved to advocate for accelerated promotion of five senior civil servants in the State Civil Service.
This was disclosed on Tuesday 27th August, 2024 by the speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Sulaiman when he presented commendation letters to the five senior staff, at the ongoing State Quarterly Budget Performance Hearing between members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly (BAHA) and the Bauchi State Health, Education and WASH MDAs holding in Kano.

Represented by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jamilu Umaru Dahiru, the speaker said that the house had been following their commitment, dedication and perseverance in developing timely budget performance reports especially in the critical sectors of health, education and WASH and that such reportsĀ assist the house members in carrying out their oversight functions, which is aimed at calling Government attention where there are gaps and challenges in the course of implementing the budget.
The speaker said that he hopes the commendation will spur them to redouble their efforts in their work and ginger others to strive to be like them.

“Not only are we going to write seeking for your promotion, but we would also push to see that it is implemented by the will of Allah”, the speaker said.
Also speaking, Bauchi State Commissioner of Budget, Economic Planing and Multilateral Coordination, Aminu Hammayo thanked the Bauchi House of Assembly for the gesture and further said that the commendation was well merited.

He attested to the recipients’ dedication and commitment to any tasks assigned to them.
Those given the commendation letters include: Ibrahim Ahmed Rufa’iĀ Director Budget, Fanus Gibbe Sudan, Deputy Director Budget and Babaji Garba Rauta, Deputy Director Budget, all from the State Ministry of Budget, Economic Planing and Multilateral Coordination.

Others are Samira Garba Aminu and Abdulaziz Mohammed Sadisu from the Bauchi State office of the accountant general.
Responding on behalf of the recipients, the Director Budget in theĀ Ministry of Budget, Economic Planing and Multilateral Coordination, Ibrahim Ahmed Rufa’i expressed his appreciation for the recognition and also pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them by the State House of Assembly.

“It is not common to be recognised by an independent arm of the Government. This commendation means so much to us and we won’t take this recognition for granted”, said Rufa’i.
