Bauchi State Disseminates Scorecard of Achievements at a Media Parley

As the June 12 Democracy Day approaches, Bauchi State Government has commenced dissemination of some of the archivememts it recorded.

The first segment of the media parley that was broadcast live featured Four Commissioners from the Ministries of Housing and Environment,  Lands and Survey, Commerce and Industry, and  that of Home Affairs and Internal Security who briefed the media on the successes recorded in fifth year of Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration through their respective ministries.

The Commissioner of Commerce and Industry Mahmoud Baba Ma’aji said that the administration, through his ministry has created an enabling environment with the massive infrastructural development that is making the State attractive for foreign investors that would soon unveil their business enterprise in the State.

On her part, the Commissioner of Lands and Survey Hajiya Amina Katagum informed listeners of the live broadcast and journalists present that the State is making adequate arrangements to relocate traders and artisans to designated spots, where the public will have easy access to traders and other service providers.

To further buttress the above position of Government, the Commissioner of Housing and Environment Rt. Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule said that the current dismantling of illegal structures embarked upon by the Government is to pave the way of restoring the State Capital to its original master plan,  with designated green areas to give aesthetic and beauty to the metropolis.

Kawule then appealed to the owners of such structures that were dismantled by the Government not to despire as the Government is making adequate arrangements through the provision of modern corner shops to carry on with their businesses.

On the issue of internal security, the Commissioner of Home Affairs and Internal Security Barr. Abubakar Abdulhamid Bununu informed listeners that the new ministry is working with all the security apparatus in the state to sustain the relative peace being enjoyed in the State.

He also said that the dismantling of illegal structures like containers that dotted the metropolis has further enhanced the security of such areas where, hitherto, criminal elements take refuge in such container shades and commit their nefarious activities.

Barr. Bununu further disclosed that plans have reached advanced stage where vigilantes will be contracted to support the police in checkmating criminal activities in the State.

There were questions and answers sessions at the end of briefing by the Four Commissioners. The media parley will continue with other Commissioners.
