Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has appealed to the Federal Government to support the State in bridging the gap in the State’s Healthcare Human Resource deficit for improved service delivery.
The Governor made the appeal when Members of the House of Representatives Committee on Health Institutions paid him a courtesy call at the Government House Bauchi.
He said Bauchi state Government will continue to work together with the Federal Government to upgrade the tertiary Healthcare institutions domiciled in the state.
Governor Mohammed said that his administration has placed healthcare on it’s priority lists and that shortage of manpower has been a challenge.
The Governor added that his administration had organized a Healthcare summit whose recommendations is being implemented with a view to provide quality healthcare services across the State.
He then commended the Minister of Health Dr. Ali Pate for coming up with initiatives to revitalize the Healthcare system in the country and also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to work with Committee Members for the benefit of the citizens.
Earlier on, the Leader of the delegation who is the chairman of the House of Representatives committee on Federal Health Institutions Hon. Amos Magaji told the Governor that they are visiting the state to engage with relevant stakeholders and Inspect the Federal Government’s Healthcare facilities in the state.
The Committee members later accompanied the Governor to commissioned an ultra modern dialysis unit at the State owned specialist hospital.
