All is now set for the upgrade of Federal Medical Centre Azare in Bauchi State to the status of a full fledged Teaching Hospital. In the same vein, General Hospital Misau will be upgraded to serve as Federal Medical Centre.
This followed a move by the Federal Ministry of Health to upgrade the two health facilities to improve healthcare access to the growing population of the State and beyond.
The State Governor Bala Mohammed gave the commitment while granting audience to a delegation from Federal Ministry of Health led by the Director Hospital Services Dr. Jimo Olawale Salahuddeen.
Governor Bala Mohammed who underscored the need to decongest patients patronizing Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital assured to support any move aimed at enhancing healthcare service delivery across the state.
Earlier, leader of the delegation and Director Hospital Services Dr. Jimo Olawale Salahuddeen who informed the Governor on the development, noted that effort would be made to ensure timely actualization of the plan.
He appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed and the Minister of Health Professor Ali Pate for their commitment to the wellbeing of people through attracting various forms of interventions in the health sector.
