In continuation of the Bauchi State committee for the second phase distribution of food items tagged “Ramadan Food Palliative”, Kirfi Local Government Area of the State has gotten over 2000 bags of assorted grains and sugar.
State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management , Honourable Hajara Yakubu Wanka handed over the food items to the representatives of the 13 Wards that made up Kirfi Local Government at the premises of LG headquarters on Saturday 30th, 2024.
She enjoined leaders of the Wards to have the fear of Allah in their hearts in the process of sharing the items to beneficiaries stressing that the monitoring mechanism has been put in place to ensure smooth sharing process.
Hajiya Wanka also disclosed that soon, Governor Bala Mohammed will unveiled yet another segment of the palliative program.
The Commissioner then thanked the Local Government administration for the orderly manner the exercise was conducted and further assured the LG of her Ministry’s support at all times.
Earlier in his welcome address, Caretaker Committee Chairman of Kirfi, Hon. Abdulkadir Dewu appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for the consistent assistance and support his administration is given to vulnerable members of the communities.
Dewu said that the humanitarian assistant is coming hand-in-hand with infrastructural development that is so pronounced and spread across the entire State.
The Chairman also assured that the loyalty of Kirfi people to Governor Mohammed is unalloyed.
In his vote of thanks, Wamban Bauchi, who also doubles as the District Head of Kirfi, Alhaji Lawan Mohammed Kirfi expressed his appreciation for the distribution exercise, employing the citizens of his domain to pray fervently for the Governor and his team, especially as Muslim faithful enters the last Ten Days of the Ramadan Fast.
Our correspondent reports that Kirfi LGA got 308 bags of rice, 924 bags of maize, 616 bags of millet and 154 bags of sugar.
