Thousands of supporters turned out to receive Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport on his arrival to the State after his supreme court victory.
As early as 7am of Saturday morning, party stalwarts, women, youths and other supporters were seen thronging the Airport premises to receive the Governor, his wife and members of his entourage at the Airport.
Immediately after the Governor’s arrival, he, his wife and other State PDP top officials mounted an open truck to commence the almost 20 kilometres drive to the Government House amidst pomp and pageantry, accompanied by long convoy of vehicles going at snail speed.
The Governor, his wife and other party faithfuls defied the swelting heat of the noon sun and proceeded in the open truck, weaving at supporters that flanked the roadsides to catch a glimpse of the victorious Governor and his convoy on their way to the Government House.
Horse riders, Musicians, cultural dancers and other entertainers were on ground to add colour to Governor’s procession that went through major roads of Bauchi metropolis leading to the Government House.
Speaking to the tumultuous crowd that had been waiting for the Governor’s arrival at the Government premises, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed thanked people of the State for their prayers and support throughout the 3 stages of the court cases that was decided in his favour by the apex court of the land.
He attributed his victory to the will of Allah and assured citizens of the State that now, more than ever, he would try to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people of the State and also solicited for their continued support.
Governor Bala Mohammed also appreciated President Bola Tinubu for providing a level playing ground for the judiciary to determine election cases before it on merit.
The Governor further restated his commitment to leaving behind an enduring legacy of development in critical sectors of the State that would stand the test of time.
While soliciting the support of the citizens, Governor Bala warned that, his administration will not tolerate any act of sabotage from anyone, no matter his position in the State.
He said that in the course of entrenching good governance through provision of social services to the people of the State, anyone that is found scuttling the laudable intentions of Government and testing the will of Government will be dealt with.
Earlier, an elder of the PDP in the State, Alhaji Garba Noma while congratulating the Governor on the victory, encouraged him to redouble his efforts in creating job opportunities that would mop up the teeming youths of the State.
Alhaji Noma also commended the effort of the Governor in his drive towards improved Security and further encouraged him not to be deterred in that direction.
