Amidst fanfare and pleasantries, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has called on Nigerians not to relent in praying for the leadership of the country to succeed.
The Governor particularly requested for prayers for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu as the leader of the Nation for God to grant him the wisdom and ability to steer the affairs of Nigeria towards economic prosperity and enhanced standard of living for Nigerians.
Governor Bala Mohammed made the plea on Monday when Christian communities across the State, under the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bauchi , paid him the traditional annual Christmas Homage at the Government House.
He said to the tumultuous Christian communities that thronged to Government House that, “as the leader of Nation, our President needs our prayers now more than ever, to guide him in conducting the affairs of our great country”.
Governor then enjoined people of the State to continue living peacefully with one another pointing out that, “economic prosperity and development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and harmony in any given entity”.
“On our part as Government, we will continue to create the enabling environment for socioeconomic growth through infrastructural development, improved healthcare service delivery, enhanced education and other components of human capital development”, said the Government.
He then expressed his gratitude for the visit and assured the Christian communities Government support at all time.
In a goodwill message, wife of the Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed charged the visitors on the need to be vigilant and pay attention to Gender Based Violence in their respective communities.
Hajiya Aisha Mohammed also reiterated the commitment of her Foundation in empowering vulnerable target groups in the State through the Foundation’s empowerment programs and activities.
She appreciated the large turnout of Women among the visiting Christians Community and also wished them a joyous Christmas and New Year festivities.
Reverend Abraham Damina, Bauchi State CAN Chairman appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed’s giant strides in infrastructural development in the State.
The CAN Chairman, while extolling the good virtues of the Governor, further expressed the gratitude of the Christians Community in the State to the Governor for the paying attention some of their needs.
There was a gift of wrapper each, for everyone that attended the event by the First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed.
