Gov Bala Mohammed Pledges Sustained Support to Judiciary

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has pledged sustained support to the State Judiciary for enhanced performance in their role as an arm of Government.

The Governor also appreciated the performance of the state judiciary in handling both Civil and criminal cases and assured that his administration would further create more enabling environment for the judiciary to perform optimally.

The Governor made the pledge at the commencement of the 2023/2024 Legal Year Ceremony holding at the High Court premises in Bauchi, the State Capital.

While congratulating the judiciary on the occasion of 2023/2024 Legal Year, Bala Mohammed emphasized the need to sustain the existing harmonious relationship among all the arms of government to secure the state against criminal elements.

Earlier in her address, the State Chief Judge Justice Rabi Talatu Umar said that State Judiciary  is committed to initiate a Multi-Door Court House Process that would provide alternative way for disputes resolution.

Justice Rabi Talatu Umar who expressed concern on the growing number of cases being filed at Magistrate, Shari’a and High courts of Justice stressed the need for out of the court settlement of disputes which according to her “is overstretching human and material resources”.

She also urged Lawyers, Police and personnel of Correctional Centres to assist the court in smooth dispensation of justice through judicious case management devoid of technicalities and unnecessary delays.
