……..as Mariestopes develops 2024 outreach work plan

Bauchi State may witness upsurge in accessing Family Planning services in health facilities across the 20 LGA of the State in the coming year.
This projection was made by LG Family Planning LGA Coordinators of Bauchi State at the just concluded 2024 Outreach Workplan Meeting organized by Marie Stopes International Nigeria held in Bauchi, the State Capital.
Speaking to our correspondent on the sideline, Amina Hussaini FP Coordinator of Toro LGA, said she is optimistic on seeing improved uptake of FP services in her LGA.
She said that there has been a steady improvement in accessing the services due consistent behaviour change awareness being carried out by Marie Stopes and the LG health department.
The Toro FP Coordinator also said that the planning meeting further afforded them the opportunity of seeing where there are gaps and how bridge such challenges.

While sharing her thoughts on the work plan meeting, Bogoro LG FP Coordinator Mrs. Yelcom Masoyi said that the data presented for the outgoing year would assist her LG in adopting innovative approach to upscale FP services using it as a baseline in 2024 activities around FP.

Mrs. Masoyi then urged her colleagues to share statistics presented to the respective department heads with a view to keeping them inform on how the LGAs are faring in respect to FP services.
Also speaking on sideline , Hajiya Amina Mohammed, the Katagum LG FP Coordinator, expressed her delight with the outcome of meeting, stressing that, when an activity or program is planned, the possibility of it derailing is slim.
Amina further said that though it is a tradition for Marie Stopes to organise such meeting to usher in new outreach year, that it was indeed heartwarming to hear feedback from all the LGAs of the State.

She said the meeting was an avenue to share their concerns, lessons learnt and proffer solutions on how to further accelerate FP services across the States.
While presenting the 2023 outreach segregated data into LGAs, the State Monitoring and Evaluation officer of Marie Stopes Nigeria, Adeyinka Adeyemi implored the Coordinator to always strive to record accurate data at their respective health facilities.

He said that it is only when is accurate data that it will point out successes recorded, areas of challenges, gaps and general feedback from the clients.
