In an era when proven leadership capacity is critical, technocrats are often the most sought after breed of personalities needed to add value to policies, programs and activities in a given entity.
Their intellectual endowment in most cases unlocks full potentials to progress, good governance and sustainable development inline with global best practices.
Such intellectual capabilities leads to robust , vibrant and inclusive leadership skills that is result-oriented, hence, the new Kaduna state government can rightly be said that, it is on top gear to deliver the mandate of setting the path way to the Sustain Kaduna legacy.
It is crystal clear that the signals are extremely good for the administration of Governor Mallam Uba Sani especially looking at the caliber of principal officers the Governor is appointing to man key positions in the State.
Of particular interest to this writer is the appointment of Professor Bello Ayuba as the Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to his Excellency Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State. This appointment by the Governor was seen by many political observers as a master stroke aimed at setting the tune for the onerous tasks of sustaining and upscaling the gains made by the immediate past administration of Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai.
The appointment of Professor Bello Ayuba did not come as surprise to all those that relates with him and it was a clear demonstration of Governor Uba Sani’s intention of working with best hands in running the affairs of Kaduna State.
Bello Ayuba, an administrator and academic per excellence,is a distinguished Professor of Business Management from the prestigious Abuja University, is not a novice in leadership and administrative skills.
He came onboard with many National and International achievements to his credit; and hails from the cosmopolitan Zaria local government.
The University Don started his career as journalist way back in the 80s with an impressive track record in the field of journalism before foraying into the academia. He rose to become a Bureau Chief of the defunct Today’s Newspaper and chaired the Bauchi State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) among others. It is instructive to note that, during his media days, Professor Ayuba’s genre of journalism was centered around development and solution-based journalism that had earned him many accolades and also prepared him for the rigors of the academia.
It is also worthy to note that no sooner had he joined the academic cycle , he rose through the ranks to become a Professor and also held various leadership positions at the University of Abuja.
When Governor Uba Sani appointed him to the highly sensitive and confidential position of PPS, Ayuba was the Director, Center for Distance Learning and Continuing Education (CDL&CE) of University of Abuja.
Before then he was , at one time, Head of Department of Business Administration; Deputy Dean of the School of Post Graduate Studies, Director, University of Abuja Ventures Limited; and also, the Editor-in-Chief, Abuja Journal of Business and Management (AJBAM) and Member, Editorial Review Board, Journal of American Academic Research (JAAR), U.S.A.
Professor Ayuba also belongs to numerous professional associations and organizations such as Fellow of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (FBDFM); Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC); Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development (FIPMD); Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (FCAI) of Nigeria; Member, Academy of Management (U.S.A); Member, Academy of International Business (U.S.A); Member, European Centre for Research and Training (U.K); Member, Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM); Member, The Academy of Management Nigeria (TAMN) and National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) among others .
It is therefore laudable that Governor Uba Sani is harnessing and harvesting excellent human resource through engagement of experts that are technically sound in their field of endeavors with a view to adding value to his administration
Professor Ayuba’s public service experience in teaching, educational consultancy and feasibility studies particularly, in marketing-related studies and renewable energy systems will no doubt complement Governor Uba Sani’s outstanding record of optimal performance and achievements in both private and public service entities, which is necessary to move Kaduna to a sustainable hub for peaceful and prosperous destination of choice.
Suffice to say, Governor Uba Sani is on a mission to chart the path to peace, unity and progress for the next four years, with his SUSTAIN manifesto; which is people oriented, tangible, measurable; centered on Safety and Security, Upgrade of Infrastructure, Strengthening institutions, Trade and Investment, Agriculture, Investment in Human Capital and Nurturing Citizens Engagement.
It goes without saying that, the new administration is coming on board with absolute commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the young men and women, through strategic empowerment initiatives which is critical to the sustenance and the security of Kaduna State.
The administration of Governor Uba Sani is also focused on human capital development that encompasses social welfare and liberating empowerment through dedicated funds for women and youths, robust social investment programmes for vulnerable persons and extensive Pro-poor interventions that is captured as government-people contract.
In conclusion, i made bold to say that Governor Uba Sani and his team are ready and prepared to build on the achievements recorded so far and also up the ante for the good people of Kaduna. The administration stands ready to further support the creativity, the entrepreneurial pulse and the immense human capital potentials of our people for sustainable development.
It is our prayers that Kaduna state under Gov. Uba Sani’s watch, shall continue to deploy the machinery of government for its most noble purpose: making lives better.
Congratulations Prof. Ayuba Bello and other appointees as you rise on the mandate to SUSTAIN this milestone and continue to improve the quality of life of the good people of Kaduna State under the visionary leadership of the executive Governor Sen Mal Uba Sani.
