……..First Family Pledged Sponsoring Victim’s Education to all Levels

A young man from Katsina State, Uzairu Salisu, whose eyeballs were forcefully removed by suspected ritualists, has visited Bauchi State First Lady Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed at the Government House Bauchi.

The victim of the dastard act, in company of his parents, who are indigenes of Bidawa village in Katsina State, said the purpose of the visit was to thanked the first lady and her husband Governor Bala Mohammed for the care and concern shown to him during his trying period as a result of the unfortunate incident that led to loosing of his sight.
It could be recall that the sixteen year old Uzairu Salisu, who was seeking Islamic knowledge under the Almajiri system of education, was lured to a farm in Katsina metropolis, by some suspected ritualists who forcefully removed his eyeballs, leaving him in a pool of blood.
The incident attracted the attention of Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, who took over the treatment of the victim under her pet project Almuhibbah Foundation by fully settling the medical bills for the treatment of the sored eye sockets of master Uzairu.
During the visit, the first lady led the young lad and his parents to her husband Governor Bala Mohammed where the governor and his wife pledged to further sponsor Uzairu’s education at all levels in both Islamic and Western system of education.
The Governor further pledged to advocate for inclusion of Almajiri component of learning into the country’s mainstream education system.
The move according to the Governor would guarantee security of students and discourage migration to urban areas in search for Islamic knowledge.
Governor Bala Mohammed who appreciated the team of medical doctors for the successful treatment of the boy, said government would follow the case with keen interest to ensure the culprit are appropriately punish.
Father of the victim Malam Salisu Sulaiman thanked Governor Bala Mohammed and his wife for their concern and prayed for the success of his administration.
