The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Bauchi South Senatorial Candidate in the fourth coming general election, Dr. Muhammad Chindo has promised the people of his constituency quality representation at the red chamber when elected.
The APGA candidate who was speaking to journalists in Bauchi on his plans to add value to the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the constituency, said that he is in the race with all sincerity of purpose.
Dr. Chindo said that for quite sometime Bauchi South Senatorial Zone has been grossly under represented at the senate, describing the situation as sad and painful.
He also stressed that when elected, he will bring his wealth of experience as an educationist to attract federal and international organizationās presence towards improving education, primary healthcare, employment opportunities and poverty reduction through wealth creation.
āI have held the position of Director General (DG) Higher Education in Bauchi State. During that period, i was one of the leading personalities that fast tracked the establishment of the State owned University.
āIt is worthy to note that, not only has the university excelled in academic activities, but it has also metamorphosed into a sound research centre that proffers solutions to some of the stateās critical sectorsā, said Dr. Chindo.
The APGA candidate also revealed that in collaboration with the State University, he coordinated the first ever international conference that brought together all the Imams of Jumaāat Mosques with a view to charting a way forward toward mitigating insurgency that was then bedevilling people of the North East.
Dr. Chindo also disclosed that he initiated the admission and scholarships of qualified Bauchi State Indigenes into private universities both here and abroad when he was the DG Higher Education.
He further revealed that he has plans to replicate and also upscale what he had started then as DG higher education when elected as Senator representing Bauchi South.
