Bauchi Hosts Sensitization Workshop on Boundary Matters

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has expressed his administration willingness to always support any peaceful move aimed at bringing lasting resolution of border conflict in the country.

The Governor gave the assurance while declaring open a two-day sensitization workshop for Boundary Managers from eight states in Bauchi.

They are Bauchi, Gombe,Yobe, Taraba, Plateau, Jigawa, Kano and Kaduna.

Mohammed who was represented by the state deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau, enjoined the participants to come up with implementable recommendations that will assist in resolving all boundary related challenges in the affected seven states.

He said “we should consider and respect our historical relationship as brothers and sisters leaving in peace and harmony for donkey years. Why then because of little problems among us today in our boundaries will aggravate us and start killing ourselves because of land”.

He commended the National Boundary Commission for organizing this all important Sensitization Workshop aimed at peaceful resolution of Boundary disagreement that consumes innocent lives of our people.

Governor Mohammed also appreciated the Commission for finding and choice of Bauchi State as worthy to host this important national issue.

The Director General, National Boundary commission Surveyor Adamu Adaji Commended Bauchi state governor under the good leadership of Senator Bala Mohammed for hosting the workshop. And further expressed strong commitment of the commission towards peaceful and amicable resolution of boundary disputes.
