The pioneer Commissioner of the newly established Bauchi State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka has call on the management and staff of the new ministry to work together for the benefit of the citizens of Bauchi State.
The New Commissioner made the call on Wednesday 16th August, 2023 when she officially assumed duty at the Ministry.
Wanka said that, as a new ministry saddled with the responsibility of bringing succor to the vulnerable members of the communities, it has become imperative for both management and staff to carry out their duties in an accountable, transparent and responsible manner.
The new commissioner also said that,in line with the policy thrust of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed and his administration’s focus of thinking Bauchi First at all times, the new ministry will implement some of these policies and that all staff of the ministry will be involved in the tasks ahead.
Wanka then pledged to run an open door leadership style that would welcome any productive input that may add value to the policy drive of Governor Bala Mohammed and the administration’s road map of thinking “Bauchi First”.
Earlier in his remarks, the head of National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO) Bauchi, under National Social Investment Program (NSIP), Mallam Ibrahim Rufa’i, welcomed the commissioner of the New Ministry whom he described as a grounded personality in development work with years of track record and achievements.
Rufa’i then pledged the support of management and staff of the new ministry to the Commissioner in her leadership responsibility of nursing the new ministry for the overall development of the State.
Highlights of the assumption of office by the new commissioner was the handling over of mantle of leadership by the head of the NCTO.
