Governor Bala Mohammed Held Valedictory Cabinet Meeting, Seek Pardon from Aggrieved Members

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has seek forgiveness from his Commissioners and other political appointees in his cabinet that felt they have been stepped on the toe in the course of running his administration in the last four years.

The Governor said this on Thursday 25th May, 2023 in his valedictory remarks at the Exco Chamber of the Government House, shortly before the commencement of the last Executive Council Meeting in the current dispensation.

In an emotion laden voice, the Governor said that the modest achievements recorded in the last four years could not have been possible with the contributions of the Executive Council Members.

The Governor enumerated some of the successes recorded in the areas of infrastructure, health care systems, water supply,entrenchment of good governance especially in complying with public procurement act.

He told the cabinet members to take pride in the achievements of the administration because even outsiders have acknowledged such achievements.

The Governor said that it was gladdening that the administration was honored by independent bodies outside the state.

“Very recently Bauchi state came second best in our efforts towards improved health care service. This honor attracted cash reward of $400,000.

“Again just last week ICAN award the state with a pass mark of being transparent and accountable in our public financial management system.

“These are just few of some of the recent honors received by the our Government and it is a thing of pride to be so honored”, said the Governor.

One of the outcomes of the last executive council meeting was the dissolution of the cabinet members and other political appointees, preparatory the May 29th swearing in of the current Governor for another  term of another four years.
