The federal executive council has approved the Nigeria economic agenda 2050 long term plan.
The council also approved the six medium term of five year plan which will be dealing with the various specifics in terms of strategies towards the agenda 2050’s broad macro economic and sectoral outlook.
Minister of state for budget and national planning, Clement Agba gave these hints while briefing state house correspondents as part of resolutions reached at Wednesday’s meeting of the executive council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The minister said the agenda benchmarks Nigeria amongst other upper middle income countries that have already achieved some levels of economic and social development which Nigeria so desire by 2050
Meanwhile, before the commencement of the weekly meeting, President Muhammadu Buhari had sworn in seven reappointed board members for the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission,
The members include Justice Adamu Bello (retd.), Katsina State; Hannatu Mohammed (Jigwa State); Olubukola Balogun (Lagos State); Obiora Igwedibia (Anambra State); Dr. Abdullahi Saidu (Niger State); Yahaya Dauda (Nasarawa State) and Grace Chinda (Rivers State).
All seven board members were first inaugurated by Buhari in 2019 and their renewed four-year tenure ends in March 2027.
