The people of Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi State have pledged their total and unalloyed loyalty and support to the re-election bid of Governor Bala Mohammed.
This fact came to light in Zaki LG on Friday 13th January , 2023 when the Governor took his campaign train to Zaki town amidst pomp and fanfare.
After paying homage to the traditional institutions of the LG, our correspondent sought to hear from some residents of the LG on how they view the campaign bid of the Governor.
An orange seller close to the palace of District Head of Katagum, Sabo Isa said to our correspondent, “Governor Bala Mohammed has done well in his first tenure and i am optimistic that he will do more in another four years. So, i will vote for him by the Will of God”.
Sharing her views also, a 40 year old petty condiment trader Hajiya Sakina Yusuf Zaki, who was full of excitement during the campaign visit of the Governor said , “every right thinking person should vote for Kaura. After our experience of his immediate predecessor, his coming to power was quite refreshing and productive. In my view, Bauchi citizens should vote Kaura back to consolidate on the present gains.
Another 26 year old resident of Zaki Abdulbaqi Hamidu shared his view saying, “are you even asking me who i would be voting for. Left for me, Governor Bala should not have bothered coming to campaign in Zaki LG because, aside the tangible projects he has executed and other ongoing ones, he has endeared himself into the hearts of Zaki people by picking our own son to serve as his deputy. So, you can see that Zaki LG and indeed, other surrounding LGs will definitely do Kaura without a question”.
Our correspondent reports that, as Governor Bala Mohammed took his campaign to Zaki, a free medical outreach services targeting 10,000 in each of the 20 LGAs of the state was unveiled. The outreach services will provide free drugs, testing and treatment for ailments ranging from hepatitis, cataract surgeries, malaria, yellow fever, vitamins supplements etc.
