In it’s effort towards addressing climate change conditions, Rotary club of Bauchi central has planted trees at a housing estate that is under construction by Bauchi state government at Dungal village, along the Bauchi -Jos federal high way
Assistant Governor Rotary International District 9125 Gabriel Omaji said tree planting is one of the areas of focus of Rotary towards protecting the environment.
“Since we are part of the earth, we need to protect it from climate change and other Environmental hazards”.
Omaji said tree planting protects the soil, serves as wind breakers and beautify the environment.
He added that the trees will also provide extra oxygen to inhabitants of the estate.
Club president Rotary Club of Bauchi Central, Nnoso Nwobi said the exercise is Rotary’s humanitarian services to the community.
“In embarking on selfless service, we need to impact the on the lives of our host communities, today Rotary has planted 100 trees at Dungal village”.
Nwobi noted that the trees will serve as shade to residents of the estate.
“This is the first of series of activities towards addressing climate change, the club will also embark on the construction of drainage systems in the state”.
He called on members of the public to join Rotary club of Bauchi Central and provide humanitarian services to the people.
