E4A Mamaye Project Honours BaSAM Members in Bauchi

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Funded Project, Evidence for Action Mamaye Activity (E4A) have honoured some members of the Bauchi State Accountability Mechanism for Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (BaSAM) in Bauchi, the State Capital.

A press statement signed and issued by the public relations officer of BaSAM, Bashir Hassan Abubakar on behalf of the Co-chair, Mr. Abu John Yusuf, said the award was in recognition of their outstanding commitment, passion and dedication to the activities of BaSAM.

In a well attended close-out meeting of the E4A Mamaye Project held at Hazibal Hotel Conference Hall Bauchi, the Country Lead of the project, Mrs. Esther Agbon said that the Award was to further encourage the Awardees to up their ante in their continuous advocacies for improved MNCH in Bauchi State.

Represented by the Accountability and Health Budget Advisor of E4A, Musa Mohammed, Agbon said that E4A Mamaye is proud of the Awardees and BaSAM performance in general, stressing that, “this award is in recognition of your contribution towards improved Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) in Bauchi State”.

Those honoured with the Award were the office of the DPRS, Bauchi State Ministry of Health, Co-chair (CSO) Mr. Abu John Yusuf, Usman Muhammad of Evidence Subcommittee, Ladan Isah Dalhatu of Advocacy Subcommittee and Elizabeth Kah of knowledge, management and communication (KMC) subcommittee accordingly.

Other Awardees include: Assistant Secretary of BaSAM, Mubarak Muhammad, a member of the advocacy subcommittee, Ahmed Sani, a member of the KMC subcommittee, Bulak Afsa and the PRO of the Coalition, Bashir Hassan Abubakar respectively.

Speaking on behalf of the Awardees, the Co-chair (CSO) Mr. Abu John Yusuf thanked E4A Mamaye for the honour and assured that it will spur BaSAM to always strive to upscale it’s activities with a view to improving the lives of Mother and Children in Bauchi State.

Mr. Yusuf also informed all health related State MDAs and Implementing Partners in Bauchi State of BaSAM’s readiness to collaborate in the Coalition’s areas of competence, that is primarily anchored towards primary health care services and other public health concerns.

Before the end of the meeting, the Coalition also presented gifts to the E4A Mamaye team, as  token of appreciation and also provided a two decker cake that was collectively cut to signal the end of the E4A Mamaye Project in Bauchi State.
