Leadership Crises Rocks Bauchi Assembly, 22 Members Poised to Impeach Principal Officers

There is leadership brouhaha right now at the Bauchi State House of Assembly as 22 members of the House are poised to impeach Principal officers of the House, including the Speaker, Abubakar Y Suleiman if they don’t honorably resign from office.

The  was made known  by the  22 members of the Assembly, thereby giving credence  that a leadership crisis has engulfed  the Assembly as the 22 members of the House on Friday passed a vote of no confidence on the principal officers of the House for ineptitude.

The 22 members led by the Deputy Majority Leader, Baballe Abubakar Dambam representing Dambam/Dagauda/Jalam Constituency declared that the leadership of the House has failed in its responsibility to the members.

The 22 members therefore called on the leadership to choose the honorable path of voluntary resignation from office or be impeached any moment from now.

According to the leader of the 22 members while addressing Journalists at the end of their meeting at the Assembly complex, “After our meeting held today, Friday, 1st July 2022, 22 members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly resolved to pass vote of no confidence on the leadership of the House from today” .

He added that, “We consider that as it is today, there is no leadership in the State House of Assembly, I am among the leaders but we feel that it is the right time and we must do it. We have therefore passed a vote of no confidence on all the leaders of the Bauchi State House of Assembly”.
