As the Gates Foundation funded intervention, Evidence for Action Mamaye Activity (E4A), closely comes to an end in Bauchi State, a Coalition, midwifed by E4A, known as Bauchi State Accountability Mechanism for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (BaSAM) have reiterated their resolve to carry on it’s activities on Evidence Based Advocacy for improved Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) in Bauchi State, inline with the vision and mission of the Coalition.
Towards this end, BaSAM have commenced a Two Day Quarterly Review Meeting (QRM) to further articulate it’s sustainability action plan in the state.
In an address shortly before the commencement of the meeting, the Co-chair (CSOs) of BaSAM, Mr. Abu John Yusuf said that the meeting is particularly emotional because it is going to be the last QRM under the E4A Mamaye Activity current investment, that is ending in July 2022.

The Co-chair said that the objective of meeting was to, among other things, review Coalition’s program implementation and identify activities that can be sustained.
Mr. Yusuf further said that the meeting will seek to review and adopt Coalition’s Operational Manuals and also update it’s work plan.
While commending BaSAM members for their commitment, Yusuf said, “the crust of discussions during this Two Days meeting will focused on Coalition sustainability and update resource mobilization activity in line with BaSAM resource mobilization work plan”.
Our correspondent reports that day one of the QRM saw the Coalition reviewing and adopting some of the draft SOPs, preparatory to it’s full registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
An update was also shared by a member of the coalition on the status of the registration of the Coalition that will give it an official backing to operate as a Corporate Entity, saying that, as at now, the coalition is at the level of name search approval by the CAC.
It is also expected that day two of the meeting will feature subcommittee’s comprehensive report on their activities since inception, continue discussions on reviews /adoption of SOPs and also chart a way forward inline with sustainability plan of BaSAM .
