Governor Bala Mohammed Showers Empowerment Packages to 1000 People in 2 LGAs

Towards redeeming his campaign promise,  Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state on Wednesday showers empowerment packages worth 150 Million of Naira to some women, youth and select vulnerable groups in Shira and Giade Local Government Areas of the state.
Shortly before commencement of the distribution in Shira LG, Governor Mohammed said the empowerment was an avenue to improve the economic status of the beneficiaries.
The Governor said that the packages comes in the form of Vehicles, Motorcycles, Sewing and Grinding Machines targeted for 500 beneficiaries in the local government, while others were empowered with N50, 000 each to invest in their petty businesses.
He said that the empowerment drive which is under his programme tagged ‘Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme’ (KEEP) is expected to cover all the 20 local government areas of the state.
“Our administration has placed a high premium on the empowerment of citizens of the state particularly women and youth in a bid to lift them out of poverty and unemployment.
“With today’s launching of the programme in Shira and Giade Local Government Areas, it could be said that over 50% of the State has been covered by the economic intervention. In each of the local government we launched the programme, 75 million naira has been expended through cash and other empowerment items”, said the Governor.
In their respective remarks remarks, the chairmen of Shira and Giade expressed their appreciation to the governor for carrying their  people along in delivering dividends of democracy.
They also thanked the Governor for carrying out renovation of the entire secretariats in all the 20 LGs of the State.
They also  called on the beneficiaries to utilize the items in order for them to become self reliant.
