In Bauchi State, Ministries Department and Agencies (MDAs) are set to take charge the administration of nominal payroll of their respective staff in an effort to bring to an end the persistent challenges of salary payment.
To this end, staff officers from the MDAs are being train on the modalities for the new system as part of the salary transition and implementation process.
Development shows that the state government has disengaged Dynatech as the consultant handling the responsibility of salary payment.
Demonstrating the new salary administration to journalists at the Government House, the state deputy accountant general, Sagir Abdullahi noted that this month’s salary will be paid through the new system, which he described as user friendly.
Sagir Abdullahi explained that the decentralization of the responsibility will ameliorate the hardship being experienced by civil servants who are encountering problems in seeking solution to problems related to salary payment.
While commending Governor Bala Mohammed for his concern on the civil servants, the deputy accountant general said the exercise will be replicated at local government levels.
Also speaking, the Director ICT Department at the treasury office, Mallam Arma Ya’u Garba said technical staff were engaged to guide the staff officers on how to handle the task for effective service delivery.
He called on the trainees to redouble effort towards achieving the desired objective.
