Not fewer than 500 pregnant women in Bauchi state have been gifted with maternity kits, preparatory to their due dates of delivery. The kits were given by Almuhibbah Foundation in partnership with Fidelity Bank
Presenting the kits to some of the beneficiaries at Bayan Fada Maternity Bauchi, the state First Lady of Bauchi State Hajiya Aisha Bala Muhammad said 150 pregnant women from some selected primary healthcare facilities will be given the Mama’s Kits, while the remaining 350 kits will be shared across the 20 local government of the State.
Aisha Bala Muhammad, who is also the founder of Almuhibbah Foundation, said that long before the coming of present administration, the Foundation has been initiating various intervention program aimed at supporting both women and children.
She informed that over the years, the foundation has organised Medical outreaches to some hard-to-reach communities in order to make health care accessible to such communities
The wife of the governor also said that she has made it her personal duty to be visiting the State Specialist Hospital and other healthcare Centers to see medical condition of people in other to support towards improvement in the health status of vulnerable groups.
In his address, the Executive Chairman Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency , Dr Rulwanu Muhammad, commended the effort of the State first lady and fidelity Bank for coming to the aid of the beneficiaries, describing the gesture as “right step in the right direction”.
Also speaking the Manager, Fidelity Bank plc, Ahmed Tagaya called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the items provided and also promised more support and collaboration with Almuhibbah Foundation.
Meanwhile, patients with diabetes disease in Bauchi metropolis have received Beans and Eggs donations from the first lady. The gesture, according to Hajiya Mohammed, was aimed at reducing their plight.
