Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has instructed the payment of all outstanding allowance of Bauchi State students of tertiary institutions, saying that the welfare of students and provision of quality education are part of the priority areas of his administration.
The Governor made the commitment while receiving the newly elected officials and members of National Union of Bauchi State Students in Government House Bauchi.
Governor Mohammed said to actualize the commitment, the state ministry of education is directed to work in synergy with scholarship management board to produce credible number of indigenous students studying in various institutions across the country before disbursement of the allowance.
While congratulating them for the peaceful conduct of their election, Bala Mohammed, warned them against taking part in any form of unlawful activities to guarantee their future.
Earlier the National President of the Union Comrade Mahmud Abubakar said they were in the Government House to introduce themselves as the new executive that will run affairs of the union for the next one year.
He encouraged the Governor to sustain his effort of repositioning the education sector for the students to acquire quality education.
