A community in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria, were thrown into mourning resulting from an electrocution incident that claimed the life of young man that just got married. The deceased, Osaki Diri, was a Media Aide to Degema LGA Chairman, .Honorable Michael John Williams.
It was gathered that the deceased, who had only wedded on August 28 in Port Harcourt, was electrocuted when he was answering a call , while his phone was plugged to a power point, charging.
A family source confirmed that the incident happened at his residence on Thursday in Port Harcourt and that his wife who had attempted to rescue him was also shocked, but survived the electrocution.
Reacting on the incident, the Degema Council boss, commiserated with the bereaved family, describing late Diri as a God-fearing, humble and hard-working young man, who endeared himself to many in the short time he lived on earth.
Diri was one of the 23 social media aides engaged by the Degema Chairman in August.
