Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Thursday swears in 21 new commissioners and other principal officers that includes Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff (CoS) Government House, and principal private secretary respectively.
The governor, in a brief speech shortly after the State Chief Judge, Justice Rabiu Talatu administered the oath of office and allegiance to the new appointees, urged the new cabinet officials to exhibit exemplary leadership and diligence in the running of government affairs.
The Governor expressed confidence in their abilities to support the administration to achieve the set objectives and tasked the new appointees to live above board and discharge their duties in accordance with their oath of office.
He said their appointment was based on merit and their track record of performance in their previous places of assignments.
“I must also remind you that you owe your various constituencies positive representation in government, because you are expected to serve as ambassadors of your people and let them know what we are doing for their well being”.
“I congratulate all of you on your well deserved appointments. I would still like to remind you of the enormity of the tasks before you.”
Recall that the governor on June 9 dissolved the State Executive Council and other notable political appointees that included the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff (CoS) Government House, and all Special Advisers with the exception of four Special Advisers.
