BASG Pledges Support for NIPR Capacity Building Activities for it’s Members

Bauchi State Government has pledged to support the state chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in it’s quest to build the capacity of their members.
The pledge was made by the state governor Bala Mohammed at the annual general meeting of the chapter today in Bauchi.
Represented by his special adviser on media Mukhtar Gidado , he stressed that, “NIPR, as a professional body is assisting in projecting the image of the state and the nation at large to the outside world and so the state government would continue to support the activities of the institute especially in the area of training of its members”.
Earlier in his welcome speech State chairman of the institute Kabir Ali Kobi has disclosed that the Institute has improved its membership drive in the last one year where it attracted new members from within and outside the state.
According to him, 15 members from Nigerian army university, Biu and university of Maiduguri, Borno state and federal university, Gashua in Yobe state were inducted into the institute recently.
He added that apart from the public sector, members were also attracted from private organizations noting that the aim of the registration is to promote professionalism in the practice of public relations in the country.
The chairman also said that at the end of the annual general meeting, election would be conducted to select new officials of the chapter.
