PDP Describes Senator Grace Bent’s Defection to APC as Good Riddance
By Bashir Hassan Abubakar
Adamawa State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) described the exit of Senator Grace Folashade Jackson Bent to All Progressives Congress (APC) as a good riddance and movement of an empty politician to a party of no relevance in the state.
This was stated by the Adamawa State PDP organizing Secretary, Alhaji Hamza Madagali in an interview with news men in Yola, the state capital ,stressing that Grace defection is a welcome development, a good omen to the party that have been praying God to send away it’s enemies.
He revealed that the Senator has lost popularity from her people in the Southern Senatorial zone, felt out with them in 2019 when they refused to vote her as their sole Senatorial candidate despite given her the privilege to form the party EXCOS (delegates) of the zone.
According to him, it’s unfortunate the one time Senator is indignant and resulted in shifting blames, calling the name of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and many party chieftains behind her political perils.
” I believe she is missing it all out, thank God she said PDP made her who she is, whatever and wherever she will be, it is the glory of PDP that will keep her. This is the truth she will always admit.” Hamza said
The PDP official refuted the claims of APC chieftains during the welcoming ceremony of Grace in Yola that no prominent politician is in PDP, that the bigwigs in Adamawa politicians are all in APC.
He mentioned the likes of Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who served the nation for eight years, the former Governor of Adamawa State, Mr. Buni Haruna, Professor Emeritus, and a one-time ranking Senator, Professor Jibril Aminu.
Others he considered as crowd pullers and shakers of Adamawa politicians are the former PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, Mr. Dan Suleiman who is a member Board of Trustees of the party are still in PDP, active and able to make the party an ever winning one in the state.
