BSPHCDA Commends Caregivers on Increase in Child Birth Spacing Services
By Bashir Hassan Abubakar
The Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency has commended husbands for allowing their spouses to access Child Birth Spacing (CBS) services at the various health facilities across the state, describing them as champions in propagating CBS in their various communities.
The state Coordinator of CBS services, Mrs Hajara Yahya, stated this in an interactive session with newsmen in Bauchi at the weekend.
The coordinator stressed that due to the increase in the number of clients accessing the services, occasioned by the permission granted by caregivers, it has become imperative for CBS coordinators in all the PHCs to redouble their effort in regular updates of records and consistent checks on commodities to address the out of stock challenges at health facilities, as a result of high influx of clients.
She said because the supply of commodities were directly made from a zonal store in Gombe state, there is the need for prompt request especially when CBS commodities have reach a reorder level, for timely delivery.
She described the rate of acceptance of the various Commodities as a positive development.
She further said that as awareness in CBS increases, the need to keep abreast on the availability of commodities at all time is paramount
“The agency has advised that all coordinators in PHC should forward their records and requests of commodities on time to avoid going out of stock.
“Mostly, we experience out of stock because of the high number of clients using it.
“Husbands are supporting their wives to go for CBS, as sometimes we have couples coming for the services, “she said.
She appreciated the efforts of the Bauchi state Government in providing quality health care to the people, especially at the PHC level.
