Bauchi NUJ Calls for Recruitment of Casual Workers into the State Civil Service

Bauchi State Government has been urged to engaged committed casual staff rendering services at the various state owned Media organizations for optimal service delivery.

The chairman, Nigeria union of journalists NUJ Bauchi state council, comrade Umar Sa’id made the request while receiving the State Commissioner of Information and Communication Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman on a familiarization visit to the State Council.

Comrade Umar Sa’id said, there are significant number of casual staff that are doing very well in carrying out their assigned duties at the state owned Media organizations, hence the need to reciprocate such performances by given them a permanent appointment in the state civil service.

Umar Sa’id explained that such gesture will motivate the casual staff to do more, and encourage others to join the system.

He also advised state government to fasten the process of digital switch over at the state owned television station BATV to suits the current global trend of transmission.

Umar Sa’id who commended the efforts of the commissioner to bring unity and understanding among the Media organizations in the state said, NUJ is ready to support the ministry to succeed.

Earlier, the Commissioner Bauchi State Ministry of Information and Communication, Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman said, they were at the NUJ for familiarization visit, in order to strengthen  synergy between his Ministry and the NUJ.

The Commissioner who appreciates the cordial working relationship between the Government and members of NUJ in the State, assured to give all support to the union while carrying out its activities.
