The corporate headquarters of a Bauchi Based Civil Society Organisation (CSO) HEAL Disability Initiative (HDI) was agog with activities as Board of Trustee members , management and staff came together to felicitate with it’s Board’s Chairman, Hon. Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim on his appointment as a Judge of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.
The event which took place at HDI Corporate office on 2nd April 2024. was to honour and recognize the sterling qualities and achievements of the newly appointed Judge of the National Industrial Court.
HDI Board of Trustee Members and Patrons present at the occasion commend not only his landmark achievements in his professional calling but also his progressive administrative skills which, according to the speakers, had manifested through his resilience and stand on inclusiveness of the vulnerable in the society.
Other qualities enumerated by the different also focused on his humility and flare to ensure the professional development of junior lawyers during his stay as Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice of Bauchi State.
During the celebration, HDI appreciated the innumerable contributions of the celebrant to the organization since inception in 2015.
The event was graced by some Board of Trustee members and Patrons such as the former Director General of National Troupes of Nigeria, Alh. Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed; Head of Department, Standards and Quality – Dr. Hassan Shuaibu Musa; Mal Gambo Panawa Akurah; HDI Head of Administration, and Head of Finance.
Also in attendance was the State Chairman of the Association of Sign Language Interpreters of Nigeria (ASLiN), Mal. Saleh Adamu who is also staff of National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWDs).
While expressing his appreciation for the reception, Justice Subilim appreciated his recognition by HDI.
He pledged to do more for the organization and also explore all opportunities to further the course of HDI.
Justice Subilim use the opportunity to appreciate the partnership entered into by HDI with Partners for Development (PfD) through the Watershed Project being implemented in 17 communities of Alkaleri LGA of Bauchi State.
He assured PfD that HDI will comply with all agreements. He further promise to do his best as BoT Chair alongside other Board Members and Patrons to uplift the standard as well as increase the visibility of the organization.
The BoT Chairman further reiterated his resolve and commitment to advocate, support, and strategically position HDI to achieve its Aims and Objectives.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of an artist impression portrait of the BoT Chairman in his judicial regalia.
Our correspondent reports that HEAL Disability Initiative is driven by a mission of “Enriching the lives of vulnerable and marginalized persons with information, motivation, and support to advocate for inclusive and enabling environment for productive and peaceful life within their society.” While the vision is “To support and motivate underserved and neglected people to drive the change they seek to enjoy dignified life.”
