Bauchi State Council of Emirs have commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for the infrastructural development and the legacy projects that he is going to bequeath to State.
The Emirs also acknowledged the respect he accords the traditional institutions saying that it is no surprise because he comes from the same institution, being a son of district head.
The Royal fathers gave the commendation when they paid him courtesy call at the Government on Wednesday 16th September, 2023.
The first class emirs were led on the courtesy visit by the deputy chairman of the council and the Emir of Katagum Alhaji Umar Faruk ii who represented the Council Chairman and Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu.
He said they were at the Government House to personally commend the Governor and encourage him to sustain the tempo in bringing development and prosperity to Bauchi State.
Emir Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu said the Council of Emirs is not unaware of Governor Bala’s concern for the welfare of the traditional institutions that was hitherto relegated to the background.
The Council of Emirs then reiterated their support to administration and also called on the newly constituted state executive council to work with the aim of bringing development to Bauchi State as whole and not to be swayed by sectional sentiments.
Responding, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed expressed his gratitude for visit by the State Council of Emirs saying that such visits is indeed historic and encouraging.
Governor also informed the visitors that respect for the traditional institutions is cardinal under his watch.
He reiterated the resolve of his administration to always put Bauchi State first before any other consideration and also appeal to the traditional rulers to closely monitor their domains with a view to checking on the excessse of undesirable elements that may seek refuge from the onslaught of security operatives from other places.
The Governor attributed the success of his administration to the massive support of the traditional institution, and the entire people of the State and also pledged that Government will continue to partner them in that regard.
Governor Bala Mohammed then promised that Government will review the remuneration of districts and village heads so as to keep them away from conniving with bad elements to bridge security of their people.
He also solicited the assistance of the Emirs in distribution of the Federal Government palliative by keeping a close watch, to ensure that equity and transparency reign all through the distribution process.
