604 recruit constables have graduated from the Nigerian Police Training School (PTS) Bauchi.

In a colourful parade on Thursday 29th December, 2022,  heralding the mainstreaming of the new constables into the police force (NPG),  the Inspector General of Police (IG) Usman Alkali Baba, represented by AIG Zone 12,  said that the new entrants into the force will address some of the manpower gaps in the Nigerian Police.

The IG said that inline with the new strategy of combating crime at the community level , all the newly recruited personnel will be deployed to their respective local government areas to complement the efforts of existing security structures.

The IG further said that as the Nation is preparing for the general elections, the new constables will further support other officers and men of NPF in ensuring free, fair and credible elections across the country.

While congratulating the recruits for joining the NPF, IG Baba urged them to exhibit good character, discipline and integrity when discharging their responsibility for Nation building.

IG Usman Baba then commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his consistent commitment to repositioning the Nigeria Police Force into a modern policing brand and the giant strides attained towards stabilising the internal security order.

Our correspondent reports that out of the 604 recruit constables that passed out, 375 were from Bauchi State, 228 from Gombe State and 1 from Yobe State.
