Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has called on residents to embrace unity, patience and sustained support as the State ushers in the 2026 New Year.

In a New Year message issued on Tuesday, the Governor thanked God for guiding Bauchi State and Nigeria through the challenges of 2025, describing the successful transition into 2026 as an act of divine grace. He commended the resilience and perseverance of citizens despite economic and social difficulties.

Governor Bala Mohammed assured residents that his administration would continue to provide palliative support while implementing long-term economic solutions, particularly through the outcomes of the recently held Investment and Economic Summit aimed at accelerating growth and development in the State.

He reiterated that although his administration is nearing the end of its second and final tenure, it remains committed to completing key projects in road infrastructure, housing, education, agriculture, youth development and economic empowerment.

On security, the Governor warned that Bauchi State would not serve as a haven for criminal activities, urging residents to cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious movements. He also appealed for peaceful conduct as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin, stressing that the law would be applied against any actions capable of disrupting public peace.

Governor Bala Mohammed called for continued prayers and cooperation from traditional rulers, religious leaders and political stakeholders, and wished the people of Bauchi State and Nigerians a peaceful and prosperous 2026.
