Walin Gabas of Misau Emirate Turbans Aides in Colourful Ceremony

Residents of Zango Community in Bauchi Local Government Area were at the weekend treated to a rare spectacle of rich cultural heritage as the Walin Gabas of Misau Emirate, Alhaji Kabiru Ahmad, FCNA, FCTI, MFRC, turbaned several aides with traditional titles.


The ceremony, which drew an unprecedented crowd, was described by residents as one of the largest gatherings of titled personalities ever witnessed in the history of the community. The event showcased the depth of tradition, pageantry, and unity associated with the Misau Emirate’s traditional institution.


Dignitaries and well-wishers from within and outside Bauchi State converged on the residence of the Walin Gabas of Misau to witness the turbaning and to express solidarity, goodwill, and support for the newly titled men and women.

Speaking shortly after the turbaning, Alhaji Kabiru Ahmad charged the new title holders to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Misau Emirate and the traditional institutions across Bauchi State. He urged them to uphold the values of integrity, humility, compassion, and selfless service in the discharge of their responsibilities.

 


The Walin Gabas further prayed for the newly turbaned aides, wishing them long life, sound health, and divine guidance throughout their reigns, while emphasizing that traditional titles carry moral obligations beyond honour and prestige.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, one of the newly turbaned aides, Abdulhamid Ahmad, who was conferred with the title of Dan Maje of the Walin Gabas of Misau, expressed profound gratitude to the Emir of Misau, the Misau Emirate Council, and the Walin Gabas for the honour bestowed on him. He described the title as a source of pride to both himself and his family.

He assured that, by the grace of Allah, he and other title holders would discharge their duties with dedication and uphold the trust reposed in them.

Among those turbaned during the ceremony were Hassan Ahmed Mohammed as Santuraki, Dr. Umar Ahmad as Turaki, Aminu Barnoma as Cigari, and Abdulhamid Ahmad as Dan Maje, among others.
