Bauchi SUBEB, New Globe Explore Partnership to Strengthen Basic Education

The Permanent Secretary of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Abduhamid Mohammed, has expressed optimism over a proposed partnership with New Globe, an international education support organisation, aimed at enhancing the delivery of basic education in the state.

Mohammed stated that the collaboration is expected to help address key challenges affecting foundational learning in Bauchi State.

He made the remark shortly after a delegation from New Globe presented it’s profile to SUBEB management as part of efforts to explore areas of cooperation with the state government.

He noted that the Board is impressed with New Globe’s track record in states such as Jigawa, Lagos, and Kwara, as well as in countries like Rwanda, and assured that any initiative adopted would be domesticated to suit the peculiar needs of Bauchi State.

Speaking earlier, the Manager, Policy and Partnerships, New Globe Africa, Pearl Owei, highlighted the organisation’s 360-degree approach to strengthening basic education through improved literacy and numeracy outcomes.

She added that New Globe also supports states in accessing grants from institutions such as the World Bank to drive education reforms.

According to her, the organisation is excited about the prospect of working with the Bauchi State Government to strengthen systems, build organisational capacity, and enhance teachers’ professional development.
