The First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya (Dr) Aisha Bala Mohammed, has been honoured with the Peace Ambassador Honorary Award by the President of Peace Ambassadors Advocacy, Amb. Dr. Onuche Kingsley, for her remarkable contributions to peace building, grassroots empowerment and humanitarian service.
The award ceremony, themed “Nigeria First: Grassroots Solution for National Growth,” also saw the Bauchi First Lady inducted into the organisation’s Executive Advisory Council, a role that strengthens her voice in promoting peace and national development.
In an emotional acceptance speech, Hajiya Aisha recounted her inspiring journey—beginning formal education at 21 after the birth of her third child—crediting the support of her husband, Governor Bala Mohammed.
“Without that opportunity, I would not be standing here today,” she said, dedicating the award to women seeking opportunities, youths with big dreams and all Nigerians working for unity.
Through her Al-Muhibbah Foundation, she continues to champion the empowerment of women, youth and vulnerable groups, stressing that “peace is built in our villages, schools, markets and communities where ordinary Nigerians live their daily lives.”
She pledged to keep advancing peace and national growth: “When we put Nigeria first, when we strengthen our grassroots, and when we invest in peace, our national growth will be unstoppable.”
The event ended with a warm luncheon in her honour, attended by family members, dignitaries, guests and organisers.
