Maternal, Newborn and Child Health services in Bauchi State has received a boost with the innuaguration of Governing Board of a Bauchi based Community Organization (CBO) known as ALAYAHBI Women and Children Health Home Care and Welfare.
Innuagurating the Board on Monday 31st July, 2023, Bauchi State First Lady, Hajiya (Dr.) Aisha Bala Mohammed said the effort of the CBO will no doubt complement Bauchi State Government policy on improved health care services across the State, especially at the grass root level.
Aisha Bala Muhammad then affirmed her readiness to partner with indigenous groups with a view to reducing maternal, perinatal, and neonatal deaths in the state.
Represented by the Director of Women Affairs at the State Ministry of Women Affairs, Hajiya Fatima Abdullahi, the First Lady commended the organisation for its foresight to serve humanity by promoting access to quality healthcare services for the rural populace.
Earlier in her welcome address, the founder of the organisation, Hajiya Binta Abdulkarim, said the organisation’s objective is to increase access to quality health care for women and children in rural communities to reduce maternal and neonatal deaths.
Hajiya Binta added that the organisation will provide relevant data and insight to guide the development of referrals and follow-ups for an effective health care system, among other things.
In his response, the new Chairman of the Board and former Grand Khadi Bauchi State, Alhaji Abdullahi Yakubu Marafa, commended the initiative and pledged to support the organization towards realisation of it’s overall goals and objectives.
