An ongoing community mobilization and enlightenment campaign on Cervical Cancer and other related health concerns is being carried by an NGO known as Global Impact for Rural Innovation Foundation (GIRIF) in some communities of Katagum LGA of Bauchi State.
In all the communities visited by the GIRIF, the North East Regional Coordinator of the NGO, Ahmad Sani Ahmad, who spoke in the local dialect of the communities, stressed the importance Cervical Cancer Screening and Vaccination.
Ahmad, who double as the leader of the team during the mobilization and enlightenment campaign also spelt out the role of stakeholders in reducing the burden of cancer cases in communities.
“Cancer is one of the leading causes of death among all age brackets and as such our organization (GIRIF) will be carrying out such campaigns and screenings in an effort to keep you abreast with emerging trends in the prevention and cure of cervical cancer and other health related challenges in our communities”, said Ahmad.
The North East Regional Coordinator of GIRIF said the that the aim and objective of the organization is to educate and assist those living in rural areas with mental health and, HPV screening and vaccination.
